Consigning

What Do We Consign?

We consign women's (XS to 4x), shoes, purses and jewelry.  We only carry seasonal items.  We start accepting Spring & Summer February 1st  and our Fall & Winter August 1st.

When Do We Accept Clothing? 

You can bring clothing in Monday through Friday from 10 AM to 4 PM.  You do not need an appointment and there is no limit on the amount of items you can bring in.  Due to the large amount of clothing we take in each week, we use Saturday to make sure all the weeks clothing is priced and on the floor.

How Should You Bring Them In?

We ask that clothing be brought in cleaned, pressed and on hangers, free from spots, stains, tears or smoke.  Style wise, nothing older than three years old please.  Remember, the better your clothing looks the better price it will bring for you.  Shoes, purses and jewelry may be brought in bags or boxes.

What Brands We No Longer Accept.

We have now been in business for five years and have come to understand what our customer demand is.  There are certain brands we no longer accept such as :  Walmart, K-Mart, Target, and only limited amounts of Old Navy.  We have a more specific list on our "Things You Should Know" page.  Or, feel free to call with any questions about brands.  Please do not be offended if we do not accept some of your items....we must let experience and our shoppers' requests be our guide.

What Can You Expect When You Bring The Clothing In?

When you arrive with your clothing we will direct you to our back room where we are able to go through the clothing.  Once we have chosen the pieces we will keep for consignment we will change them over to our hangers and give you your hangers back.  Please allow a minimum of 10 to 15 minutes for us to go through the clothing, during this time, please feel free to browse the store.  Once we are done we will come up front and give you the appropriate paperwork. 

What Are Our Consignment Terms?

We consign your clothing for sixty days.  We will give you a pick-up date for any clothing that may not sell.  Anything that has not sold must be picked up by that date or the clothing will become the property of The Closet Exchange.   You receive 45% of what the item sells for.  The payouts are the first of every month.  We do not contact you when your clothing sells.  Please give us a call or stop by to inquire about any monies you may have coming.  

If you do choose to pick up any clothing that does not sell, please come in before the expiration date and we will give you a printout with the available items and their descriptions.  Please allow time when you come in to pull your clothing.  If you choose not to pick up any unsold items, we do have The Caring Place and Alice's House who we donate to.
